This tiny cabin in the Redwoods is owned by a family that lives off the grid on this amazing property. You can book it through Hipcamp, which is a website similar to Airbnb, but with camping and glamping sites!

Getting to this Cabin in the Redwoods
You’ll get the exact location and directions to the cabin after you book it, but here’s a little bit of info about getting there, so you know what to expect!
The cabin is located about 40 minutes outside of Crescent City, bordering Six Rivers National Forest and close to the Jedidiah Smith Redwoods. Your adventure begins on the drive there, where you’ll have amazing views of the Smith River, and drive through the stunning redwood forest. The directions are easy to follow, and you’ll drive along the main road before turning onto a dirt road down to the cabin – don’t worry, this road is easy for any car!
The property is remote and private, once you’re here, the hosts will direct you to the cabin. Though it’s located on the same property as the main house, it feels totally serene and private! The cabin faces the river, giving you the feeling of being all alone, surrounded by nature.
Inside the tiny cabin in the redwoods
There’s a little patio outside the cabin, with chairs, a table, and a stove perfect for cooking. This cabin is an off the grid tiny home, so it’s not for folks who want a luxurious stay! Inside, there’s a comfortable bed, a heater, a Goal Zero power station so you can charge your electronics, and that’s pretty much it! Through the windows, you’ll have views of the surrounding forest and the river, and you can fall asleep to the sound of running water – what more could you want?
Outdoor Adventures at This Cabin in the Redwoods
You don’t even have to leave the cabin to experience the outdoors!
Right outside, there’s a gorgeous river, and an incredible swimming hole – I went for a swim, and though it was cold (in May), it was a lot of fun! Whether you swim or just enjoy the view, the river is the best part of this cabin in the redwoods.
The hosts have also made some little hiking trails around their property, so you can walk through the forest and feel like you’re far away from everything (because you are!). They even have their own private little waterfall on the property, which the hosts told me how to get to!
Amenities at this cabin in the redwoods
This cabin in the redwoods is definitely a place to disconnect and enjoy nature – there’s no service, so you really will be off the grid! This is more of a glamping experience, but they do have all the necessities. Besides a place to sleep and the cabin itself, here’s what you can expect when you stay!
Bathroom
This cabin in the redwoods does have a bathroom – it’s a few feet from the cabin, in a cute little blue building. It’s clean and has everything you need!
Kitchen
On the porch, there’s a three-burner stove. It runs off of propane, and there’s a lighter in the cabin for you to light the stove with! It’s easy to use and perfect for your morning cup of tea or for making dinner. The porch is a great place to relax, with chairs and a table.
Next to the bathroom, there’s a sink with running water and some dish soap, so you can wash your dishes here! Bring your own dishes and cooking supplies.
Heat!
The cabin has a heater, which means you can visit anytime of year! Summers are pretty warm, but if you come during the colder months, the heater is great and will keep you cozy.

You can totally spend the entire time at the cabin, exploring the trails and hanging out by the river. But, if you want to have some adventures during your stay, or explore the area when you check out, there’s plenty to see!
Of course, you’ll want to check out Redwoods National Park nearby! If you want to hike, my favorite trails are the Damnation Creek Trail and the Prarie Creek-Foothills Loop.
If you’re heading north to the Oregon Coast, Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor is close to the border of California, and some of the best hikes include the trail to Secret Beach and the iconic Natural Bridges!
And if you’re on a road trip along the California Coast, continue south to the incredible, remote Lost Coast.
