About the Dragonfly Yurt
The Dragonfly Yurt in Eugene, Oregon is owned by Melissa and Trip – a super sweet couple who have a log house on the property. You can book it through Hipcamp, which is a website similar to Airbnb, but with camping and glamping sites! The hosts make sure that everyone feels included and safe, and their listing reflects that – booking places to stay in the more rural parts of the country can be a little iffy sometimes, but I felt 100% comfortable coming here as a queer couple.

The yurt is actually located a little south of Eugene, Oregon, in the cute town of Cottage Grove. To get to the yurt, it’s an easy drive into the neighborhood, where you’ll turn into the driveway of Melissa and Trip’s property. You’ll go a short way past the main house, to a designated parking spot marked with a dragonfly flag!

Inside the Dragonfly Yurt
There’s a little deck outside the yurt, with chairs and a table perfect for enjoying a cup of tea or coffee in the morning! When you go inside, there are two doors – a screen door, perfect for warm days when you can get some fresh air and let the sunshine pour in, and a second door that you can close to keep the warmth in.
The walls of the Dragonfly Yurt have some windows as well, which can be unzipped from outside. When you unzip them, there’s a vinyl cover, which means even if it’s raining, you can open up the windows for views of the trees! In good weather, there’s also a screen so that you can roll up the vinyl too. On the ceiling, you’ll find a skylight!
You’ll find literally everything you could need for your getaway inside the Dragonfly Yurt! There’s a spacious bed with a Sleep Number mattress, an additional futon if you need another bed, a coffee table, foldable tables and chairs, a TV with an HDMI cable, a Wifi hotspot, a warm electric fireplace and heated blankets, tea, coffee, snacks, and even some dog treats!
