Stay at Millard’s Cabin – Packwood, WA

Millard’s Cabin, just 20 minutes from the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park is a cozy, relaxing, rustic-but-modern getaway for when you feel like spending some time out in nature (and some time soaking in a hot tub!).

My girlfriend and I stayed at this adorable cabin in the forest of Packwood to celebrate her birthday, and this guide will tell you all about our experience – and how you can book Millard’s Cabin for a getaway of your own!

Head’s up: some of these links are affiliate links, so I get a commission if you make a purchase (at no cost to you). But that’s great, because I was going to share anyway, and this helps me keep making free guides for you!

About the Cabin

Millard’s Cabin is owned by Sarah and Luke, who renovated the old 1960’s cabin into the incredible getaway it is today! They restored the cabin, personalized it, and added all the amenities you need for a cozy getaway in the mountains. There’s a cedar hot tub, board games, bonfire pits, record players, and so much more!

Is the Cabin Dog Friendly?

Great news – Millard’s Cabin is dog friendly! There is a fee to bring your pup, but the cabin is actually named after Sarah and Luke’s lab – Millard. They know pets are part of the family, so you don’t have to leave your buddy behind when you stay here!

The Location of Millard’s Cabin

The cabin is in a perfect location – easy to get to, but feels far away from everything. It’s the only one on the property, so you’ll have the entire place to yourself! There are neighbors, but the fence gives you some privacy.

Millard’s Cabin is located in the small town of Packwood, just 20 minutes from the southern entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. You can easily spend days just relaxing at the cabin, but if you want to explore the area, it’s the perfect gateway to hikes, snowshoeing trails, and outdoor adventures.

Getting to Millard’s Cabin

After you make your booking, you’ll get the address and easy to follow directions to Millard’s Cabin. But, here’s a little info about getting there and checking in, so that you know what to expect!

The cabin is right off the road, with a dirt driveway to the cabin. It’s easy to get to, and the front door has a code (provided by the hosts) – so you don’t need a key to check in!

The Bedroom

When you walk into the cabin, there are (steep!) wooden stairs at the back door that take you up to the loft. There are three beds – one queen, and two full beds. The loft is cozy, with an angled ceiling, string lights, and beautiful wooden accents!

There are also two more beds in the bunkhouse – which is connected to the main cabin by the wooden deck in the backyard! In there, you’ll find a full mattress on the bottom, and a single on top, along with a washer and dryer. In total, Millard’s Cabin can host up to 8 people! But, the space is pretty small, so it’s best for groups of 2 – 4.

The Hot Tub

This was definitely my favorite part – the hot tub in the backyard! It was so amazing to spend a few days relaxing at the cabin, and soaking in the cedar tub.

The Kitchen

The kitchen at Millard’s Cabin is complete with everything you need for your stay! A fridge, a full oven and stove, dishes, cookware, coffee maker, tea kettle, and baking supplies – and even some snacks and basic ingredients, like flour and baking powder.

As you enter Millard’s Cabin, you’ll find the living room to the left – with a comfy couch, TV, electric fireplace, a record player (that also connects to Bluetooth), games, and a coffee table!
